Specific
procedures have been established for emergencies including severe
weather (electrical storms, tornado, severe rain, high winds, & lightning),
fire, explosions, public emergencies, unauthorized persons on
campus, and persons lost, missing, or runaway. All staff members
are familiarized with procedures through a written manual and
with practice drills. In any emergency situation, it is imperative
that communication is effectively maintained. To this end, we
ask that parents do not call High Meadows during severe weather
or other emergency situations, but to be assured that campers
will be well-taken care of and that we will initiate contact
at the earliest appropriate time.
