 With few exceptions, staff
members hired for the summer must be at least 18 years old with
experience and interest in camping, outdoor recreation, and
child development.
The staff is made up of mainly college students, teachers,
and parents of campers. Many campers return to High Meadows as
staff members after completing our two-year Counselor-in-Training
program. High Meadows prides itself on the quality and dedication
of its staff. Many of our camp leaders have been at camp for well
over 10 summers. At High Meadows we emphasize that the job is more
than just child care – we are here to provide an enriching,
engaging and formative experience for our campers in which personal relationships
with staff members are fundamental.
